Ricky Y Rulo
The Electro Boys from Buenos Aires
Unexpectedly we found a gift in our mailbox. A super fresh energetic high energy punk eletro mash up from a duo called Ricky y Rulo. The best thing to listen to when you chase your neighbours dog after he shited on your doorstep and of course in smal sweaty clubs with a huge soundsystem. The foto made us even more curious.
So that´s who they are in their own words:
Yooooo! We are Ricky y Rulo an Argentinian electro duo.
We were both born in Buenos Aires, but met in Amsterdam, where Rulo lives most of the time. After realizing we loved the same music, and making some tracks , we decided to start 'Ricky y Rulo' and shock the electro scene in Buenos Aires. The Electro scene in Argentina is growing steadily. Buenos Aires is a pretty much deep-house-city, which we find very boring...
Luckily, there is an underground scene thats growing mainly due to parties such as Shock, Undertones or Compass. The main artists in this new electro scene in Buenos Aires are: Ricky y Rulo (myspace.com/rickyyrulo), KRMPCK (http://www.myspace.com/krmpck), le mikrocosmos (http://www.myspace.com/lemicrokosmos ) and Arcade (http://www.myspace.com/arkd), among others.
Other artists we like, well...They are too many!! just to name a few... MSTRKFT, The Bloody Beetroots, Cut Copy, Surkin, Joakim, Hot Chip and A-trak.
We like to keep our music fresh and rough; thats why besides the nasty bass lines we usually like to add some harmony so you can dance to our music on the dancefloor as well as listen to it at home. At the moment we work a lot via email, even though we prefer working together in the studio.
Besides producing some eclectic-electrofying beats, we also want to put Argentina into the global electro scene!! in that sense we are very interested in what happens in other Latin American countries. thats why while checking out what was going on in Brasil, we discovered Edu K. After listening to his tracks, we asked him if it was ok to make a remix from 'me bota pra dancar', he agreed and sent us the acapella track . we produced the track in Amstedam and Buenos Aires. so there was a lot of sending the project over the net from studio to studio ;)

DJ EDGAR´S FAST FINGERS
We love DJ Edgar for several resons:
He plays the MPC like no other.
He made a baile funk version of smells like teen sprirt.
He has the looks of a criminal combined with the purest heart you can think of and the temper of a care bear.
He has the coolest tatoos you can imagine
He took us to one of the finest strip clubs with disco floors in rio de janeiro (allthough we are girls)
